What We Do
Loaves and Fishes is a 501(c)3 nonprofit in Clarksville, TN that serves 150-200 meals daily to anyone that is hungry six days a week (M-Sat) and distributes thousands of lbs. of food to 30+ other area churches agencies helping to reach the needy in the community.
We have 100’s of volunteers we rely that make this possible.
We have been able to take care of our community and volunteers, and even during the current COVID-19 conditions have not missed a meal since prior to March 2020.
The Journey
1983
Loaves & Fishes was organized to help feed the hungry of the Clarksville, TN community. The outreach began in 1983 when several ladies from the Trinity Episcopal Church served soup on Wednesdays.
Realizing the need for daily lunches, these ladies, along with the cooperation of First Presbyterian, Immaculate Conception Catholic, and Madison Street United Methodist Churches, organized “Loaves and Fishes.”
January 1999 — March 2021
In January of 1999 we officially set up our facility at the First Presbyterian Church Activities Center and served meals out of this facility until March 2021.
March 2021
In March of 2021 Loaves & Fishes officially opened the doors at their very own 15,600 sq. ft. facility at 825 Crossland Ave here in Clarksville.
This facility houses both the kitchen and distribution center under one roof and gives us the room to grow and offer more services to the Clarksville/Montgomery County community.
